"My work comes straight from my heart through my hands. My focus is on the whole person, integrating body, mind, spirit and emotions. Being present with you as a client is one of the features of Esalen® massage. I strongly believe that to be fully alive and present one needs to become more aware of his/her body. In order to relax during a massage you need to feel safe. I try to create an inviting atmosphere so that you can relax and enjoy your massage to the fullest. I look forward to creating the opportunity to meet you and work with you."

What is Esalen: Established in 1962, the Esalen Institute, once described as the "Emerald City of massage and bodywork" has been a unique experience for both the practitioners and the clients receiving Esalen massage. Located in Big Sur, California, Esalen is world renowned as the birthplace of the human potential movement and has been a home to the development of a unique method of bodywork known as Esalen Massage.

The heart of each session invites each individual to feel a sense of empowerment within themselves and they regain a sense of harmony, reverence and balance as their inner resources are awaken and a unique healing process begins.
The unique effects of Esalen's intentional touch range widely from individual to individual. For some, it creates a place to experience safe touch. Often old emotions are released.

Esalen massage invites one to return to their own unique nature, take a break from the stress of everyday life and allow their consciousness to create a calmer, more colorful space to enjoy the present moment.

It is not unusual to hear, "That was the most amazing massage I've ever received."
This form of massage is primarily used for full body sessions. It promotes total relaxation, increases circulation and relieves tension. The practitioner's hands begin quietly, with presence, attending to breath, allowing the receiver to drop inward. The long, slow, t'ai chi-like strokes increase awareness, and as the tissues open to the warmth of touch, the contact deepens, nudging bound-up muscles, drawing forth expanded movement. During a massage, the practitioner responds to the signs of relaxation: deepened breath, enhanced circulation, a sigh, perhaps flutters of the eyelids. Each session is unique, tailored by personal requests, comfort level, physical tension and release, the felt sense of intuition.

Deep Tissue: This form of massage helps to release chronic patterns of tension in the body. Long slow strokes and deep finger pressure is used on tensed areas. Deep tissue massage is one way to get the muscles to let go of the stress or tension that is contained within the muscle.

Seated Massage: This form of massage is generally used in the workplace, at trade shows & marketing events. It's easy to perform in a "public" setting, as people are fully clothed. The chair takes up very little space. The sessions are short, so it can easily fit into an employee's break time (usually 15-20 minutes). There are a multitude of benefits not only to the employee, but to the employer as well.

Chair massage: Chair massage is a service provided on site that is convenient for employees. It is a great way to reduce stress and increase productivity.

Hot Stone Massage: This therapy is becoming widely known for its deeply relaxing benefits. Many ancient cultures used the healing power of stones for medicinal and spiritual purposes. The deep penetrating heat from the stones is used to massage the body using traditional techniques to release muscular tension (relieving pain), reducing stress, and promoting harmony, balance and peace.

Orthopedic Massage: This style of massage is very effective to help relieve pain and complement chiropractic treatments. The main concept of orthopedic massage is to determine the positional dysfunction of a muscle and to provide an effective method of repositioning the muscle belly to its ideal position and function. Much of orthopedic massage is done while lying on your side. Various pillows are used for support and comfort. Orthopedic massage allows the practitioner to work more comfortably and for the client to experience a sense of deep contact, without painful pressure.
